I would like to think of this site as my space to analyze discuss and explore history, culture and public history.  Here I want to create a space where we all can explore the different aspects of identity, culture and history.   Prototypenoir is an extension of my academic work and cultural interest.

A little about me.

I am a Southern born Black girl geek. I am a scholar and a feminist. I am a fascinating, complex, human being who finds the intersections of Black culture, popular culture and identity fascinating. My own search for identity and obsession with popular culture has led me in my academic career to focus on how material culture can be used by both historians and public historians to learn from the past, analyze the present and look toward the future.
